Weekly serve practice plan for steady progress

Progress in serve comes faster when you follow a small, clear and repeatable plan.

The main goal in serve is to build rhythm, accuracy and trust in both your first and second serve. To get there, you need a stable toss, leg drive and a full finish into the court.

  • Start with: toss-only work with a marker
  • Continue with: serves into three zones
  • Finish the session with: second-serve spin with safe net clearance

The most common mistake is changing the toss height every time and rushing the shoulder action. If you fix it early, progress comes faster and with less strain on the body.

For match use, remember this: choose a clear target before the toss and keep the same routine on every point. Keep notes, work with simple indicators and do not change goals every session.

A simple weekly routine is: 10 minutes of toss work, 15 minutes of first-serve placement and 10 minutes of second-serve spin. Keep notes on contact quality, errors and decision making.
